AI tools

Hi before seeing the recent AI-development clarification, I used codex to build a scaffold of the project. It affected in seeing whether my idea would work or not.
If I permanently discard all affected code and assets, start a new repository, and independently rebuild the project using only Gemini-powered Google Antigravity agents, will the restarted project be eligible?
Alternatively, does the earlier third-party AI involvement mean the underlying concept/project is no longer eligible even after a complete clean restart? Please also clarify whether non-code strategy and feasibility analysis are treated differently from generated implementation artifacts.

Hi Nitish, thanks for checking in before going further! Two rules apply here: the Limitation on Artificial Intelligence Usage (projects may only use Google Cloud AI tools and the chosen Partner's built-in AI features - no other AI models, agent frameworks, or AI APIs, regardless of vendor) and New Projects Only (your Project must be newly created during the Contest Period and your own original work). Since the Codex-built scaffold will be fully discarded and won't be part of your submitted repository, and you'd be starting a new repo and rebuilding independently using only Gemini-powered Google Antigravity agents from here on, that puts you on the right track. And Yes, non-code strategy and feasibility analyses are treated completely differently from implementation artifacts. While conceptual strategy is an excellent way to scope your idea, a concept or mock demonstration alone will not meet the submission requirements. To be eligible for judging, your project must deliver actual, running code and a working technical implementation.

Before implementation, I used ChatGPT only for high-level brainstorming about a possible media workflow and hackathon scheduling. No code, tests, assets, repository, prompts used by the runtime, or implementation artifacts from that discussion will be included.

I will start implementation from scratch using only Gemini CLI / Gemini Code Assist / other permitted Google tools.

Under the current AI usage rules, is the project eligible if all submitted implementation artifacts are newly created through the permitted Google tooling?

why are other coding agents being banned from a hackathon? Chatgpt and Claude may eventually be used isnt it?
